500th year day celebration of Vijayanagar Empire at Chennai

Sri Lalitahakala Academy foundation Mysore will be celebrating the 500th year of Sri Krinshadevaraya’s Vijayanagara Empire at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Chennai under the aegis of Kartik Fine arts

Sri K Phaneedra Reddy IAS Chairman and CEO TNUDF Chennai and former Director South Zone Cultural Centre Thanjavur will inaugurate on 1st March 2011 as a part of 35th National Level Natyajali -2011 “Nrutya Nataka” festival Mr.L.Sabretnam, Chirman of Kartik Fine arts will be the Chief Guest and Mr G S Narasimhan General Manager State bank of India Region one network will be the guest of Honor. Sri K V Satyanarayana well known dance and film director from Kuchipudi Janapada Academy will present Sri Krishnadevaray’s poetic novel “Aamuktamalka” in classical Kuchipudi style of Dance

The story starts from Sri Krishna deva raya's Bhuavana Vijaya Sabha. In which

Krishna Raya felicitated Poet Peddana Kavi Peddznna Kavi asked about new poetry which was being written in Telugu by the king himself. Krishna Raya describes his experience in Maha Vishnu Temple at Srikakulam on his way back from Kalinga War. Lord Maha Vishnu came in dream and told Sri krishna Devaraya to write his stories in Telugu. Krishna Devaraya narrated his dream to Appaji and starts his poetry “AMUKTHAMALYADA”. Other poets in the Sabha asked krishna devaraya to tell the main story of Amukthamalayada. Krishna Devarayalu describes Godha Kalayanam. Ultimately the king will dedicate this poetic play at the feet of Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala

A special souvenir depicting the greatness of Hampi ( the capital of Vijayanagara Empire ) with pictorial displays will be released on the occasion.

The festival is having triveni sangam of three styles of classics Viz Bharathanatyam –Kuchipudi and Mohiniayattam. Ms. Priyakartikyan and group will present “Navarasa-Ramayana’ on 28th Feb 2011 at 5-45 PM. Mrs Gopika Varma Princess of Travancore Royal Family and group will be presenting the selected Krities of the great composer Swathi Tirunal Maharaj titled “Samaprpan” The ballet is being presented for the first time in Mohiniattm style on 28th Feb 2011 at 7-15 PM.
