AESTHETIC JOY

A thing of beauty is the joy forever. Kalaimamani Padmasri Malavika Sarukai’s thematic presentation Mohana Krishna was a joy to the rasikas today. Malavika started her recital with Krishna Karnamritham describing the beauty of Krishna. Then she went on to do a Raas based on Shrimad Bhagavatham. It was about Sharat Ritu which is Autumn and Malavika’s interpretation of the Gopis just leaving their daily chores listening to the flute of Krishn and the Naika making garlands just leaves her work hearing the tune of Krishna’s flute.

She also brought in the shringara bhava and narrated her love with her husband, but on hearing the melodious flute of Krishna she leaves her husband and goes to the woods in search of Krishna. The shringara bhava gradually came out as shringara bhakti which was excellent. Each movement each pose everything was like a miniature painting brought alive.

The program concluded with brisk Tilana in Brindavani ragam, Adi Talam followed by Vallabhachariya’s Madhurashtakam. According to Vallabachariya’s Pushti Marga, Krishna chooses his devotees and today’s program Krishna has chosen the artist as his devotee. Such was the ecstasy, joy and beauty that the rasikas enjoyed today.

Kartik Fine Arts has given the audience a big seat.
