Colourful Inaguration


'Bharathotsav' the colors of Dance as this years theme for the Kartik Fine Arts 'Natya Dharshan' the lec-dem series and evening performances was inaugurated by Sri L.Sabaretnam. Poet Kanimozhi M.P lighted the traditional kuthuvillaku along with Padmasri Prof Chitra Visweswaran, Smt. Rhadha , Dancer Lakshmi Viswanathan and Natanamamani Shobana the convener of this years festival.


Honouring Stalwarts on the occasion of centenary celebration of Vazhuvoorar was a Welcome thought and Kalidas Samaroh Awardee Smt. K.J.Sarasa was honoured along with Smt Rhadha and Smt. Chitra Visweswaran were honoured in front of dignified audience.


Sri. L.Sabaretnam spoke about the different Artists performing and also Artists from different states are given a platform. He mentioned that he takes great pride along with his committee members that Kartik Fine Arts does not take any donations from Artists and it nurtures Art in the right way it deserves.


Prof. Chitra Visweswaran and Smt. Rhadha spoke about there experiences and this was followed by poetry reading session by Kanimozhi M.P and Dance demonstrated for the poems by Rama Vaidyanathan in Bharatanatyam and Neena Prasad in Mohini Attam style. It was beautiful to see Poetry and Dance and Poetry in Dance at the same time. Both the Artists did a Great Job with the Poetry session.


The second session had Urmila Sathyanarayana presenting Potana Bhagavatam which was well conceived and Dramatic. Dr. Pappu Venugopala Rao has given lyrics and Urmla has revived this topic after a gap of few years.


The afternoon witnessed a book release function. Pujyamata Mathioli Saraswathis book Vellicham was released by Dr.Nalli Kuppusami Chetty and first copy received by Smt. Manjula Ramesh. The speakers P.Lakshmanan, Sri.Vaidyanathan and Sri.Ramu publisher spoke highly about the book.
